The Beat(ing) Goes On!

The Beat(ing) Goes On!

Hi there!  So, things look rather good here in British Columbia, with only 500 active cases of COVID-19 in a population of five million people.  I'm so grateful for the leadership here!  Look up Dr. Bonnie Henry online, who calmly asks us to be kind and work together to stop the spread of the virus.  People listened for the most part and it worked – the province is beginning to open so we can hopefully get a step closer to normal again.  Even schools are scheduled to reopen here in June, albeit on a volunteer basis.  We resumed shooting to a degree here at Club Stiletto but are doing it in a thoughtful manner – we’re careful about who we match up and we make sure that all participants have been self-isolating or that they live together.  It's difficult to speculate on how things will change as the province opens.  Some people think the reopening could cause a spike in the virus, which in turn would result in tougher restrictions, so the plan is to get as much footage as we possibly can during the next month or two.

I generally try to avoid making political comments but I’ve followed this virus closely, and the countries with the most success are the ones whose people work together and wear masks not for their protection, but for the protection of others.  It has made the pandemic almost nice in a lot of ways, as I see people respecting space and trying to be friendly and helpful.  How does this compare to where you’re located?  I know it's a mixed bag around the world so I’m curious to know how things are going wherever you are.  I certainly feel for those impacted in a financial way and hope you’re able to cope with your own situation.  The Canadian government has provided some form of monthly assistance to virtually everyone, but I know these will still be tough times for many.  Feel free to comment below, and in the meantime, stay safe. And thank you so much for your support as a member, now more than ever!
